Grade 12’s from Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge obtained 100 per cent pass rate in this year’s Independent Examination Board (IEB).
About 110 pupils from the school wrote this year’s examination with at least 224 distinctions achieved.
Four pupils achieved eight distinctions each while seven achieved seven distinctions each and three achieved 6 distinctions each.
Christie Robyn Courtnage (18) is one of the pupils who achieved eight distinctions with an average of 87,63 per cent.
She is planning to study Electrical Engineering at the University of Witwatersrand. Christie is involved in a sport called orienteering.
Orienteering is a group of sports that requires navigational skills using a map and compass to navigate from point A to point B in diverse and usually unfamiliar terrain, moving at a very high speed. She represented South Africa in June 2016 at the Junior World Championships in Switzerland.
Bradon Dinwoodie also achieved eight distinctions with an average 92 per cent pass rate and he is going to study BCom International Business at the University of Stellenbosch next year. He has chosen this career path as he has a deep-rooted desire to start his own business and use it to bring about a real impact to the world.
Timothy Liam Hill and Kirstin Ashleigh Reid are the other two pupils who obtained eight distinctions.
Some of the pupils who achieved seven are Lara Broderick, Tanna Samantha, Christopher Franklin, Natanael Janse van Rensburg, Duncan Quick, Jennifer Sinclair and Cole Brian Taylor.
While the pupils who achieved six distinctions are Mia Boshoff, Reece Coner Davis, and James O’hare.
The school’s principal Christo De Wit congratulated the class of 2016 and indicated that they were pleased with the excellent results achieved. “The combination of supportive parents, hardworking students and an exceptional staff had again placed our school in the top educational echelons in the country,” said De Wit.
