Councillor Mosito’s Christmas message

COSMO CITY – Ward 100 councillor Rosina Mosito encourages residents to be active and help tackle challenges.

The newly elected councillor for Ward 100, Rosina Mosito, wishes all residents in her ward a wonderful festive season and a prosperous 2017.

She said the festive season was the time of year when residents travel to other provinces to spend time with their families and friends. “I want to wish all those residents of Ward 100, who will be travelling to a different destination, to have a safe trip,” she said.

She urged those who would be staying behind during the festive season to look after themselves and always be cautious about crime elements in the area.

Ward 100 consists of Cosmo City and Itsoseng informal settlement. These areas had recently been plagued by spiralling crime. “I humbly request residents to work with the police while monitoring suspicious activities in the area.

“It is our responsibility to look after one another and it is also the responsibility of the police to keep us safe.”

She promised that in 2017 she would continue to work with residents to tackle the issues of service delivery in the area. “Johannesburg Water has noted the problem of sewerage pipes, which constantly burst. They are working on a plan to find the main problem since the pipe was recently upgraded,” she said.

She also appealed to residents to work with her and strengthen effective communication to tackle challenges in these areas. “My plan is to have a community that is organised whereby we have different stakeholders such as Community Policing Forum (CPF), residents associations and forums,” she said.

She encouraged residents to be active and get involved in the area as this will help improve communication and ensure the area was safe again.
