Find out the true meaning of Christmas

HONEYRIDGE – A Walk-through Living Nativity attracts more than 2 000 people...

A three-day exhibition demonstrating the journey of the birth of Jesus Christ was held at Honeyridge Baptist Church in a bid to educate the public and create awareness about the sacred meaning of Christmas.

Pastor Stuart Cranna, who guided and narrated the exhibition, said that the true meaning of celebrating Christmas has been forgotten. “I decided to put together the event for its second year to refresh people’s minds about the main purpose. People have forgotten the real significance of celebrating Christmas. Nowadays people think Christmas is all about family, nice food, Santa and a fun time, which is really not the case.”

More than 2 000 congregants and visitors flocked to the church from 9 to 11 December to find out the true meaning of Christmas. Attendees were divided into small groups and underwent different kinds of spiritual guidance under the theme, A Walk-through Living Nativity.

Different scenes were depicted leading up to the nativity and briefly elaborated by Cranna, who quoted the bible.

The tour had 11 scenes altogether, including a soulful choir.

Some fascinating and authentic scenes were showcased, including the stage where an angel appeared in a dream and spoke to Mary and Joseph about their unplanned child, Jesus. Another scene showed Jesus being born in a stable surrounded by donkeys in Bethlehem.

Cranna, who was impressed with the turnout, concluded by asking all attendees to reflect on the programme and suggested they start celebrating Christmas traditionally by serving Jesus Christ.
