Pay attention to these items that women and men do not want for Christmas before you decide on what to buy your loved ones this Christmas.
Do not purchase the following items for women:
• Kitchen appliances, as these are very impersonal and suggest that a woman belongs in the kitchen cooking and doing dishes.
• Gift cards, as these suggest that you did not know what to buy and it is not really a gift as it does not communicate a personal message.
• Household items, as these are considered to be gifts for the house and should never be given out as a Christmas gift.
• A gym membership, as this indicates that a woman should work out more. It further suggests that you think she is fat and has too much time and should spend it at the gym.
• Items for the car, such as new seat covers or tyres as these do not communicate a personal message. This should fall under car maintenance.
Do not purchase the following items for men:
• A tie, as men prefer their own taste while shopping for a tie
• Socks, as men can buy their own socks
• Shower gel and toiletries, as choosing a scent is personal to men.
• Tech gadgets you know nothing about, as it is better to rather give him a gift card as this will save him the hassle of returning the item and exchanging it for one he likes or needs.
• Subscriptions to anything, as subscription packages add pressure. If he feels like he has to do something, he’s going to resent it.
