I think of those who are alone

Take time to think of all those who are alone, homeless or unemployed.

Ward 126 councillor David Brand wishes all residents a blessed festive season.

“I find it quite sobering when retailers start putting up decorations, announcing that Christmas is only 100 shopping days away. But soon enough the holidays arrive and it’s a happy time of braais and socialising,” he said.

“As Christians prepare to celebrate, and all of those from other religions get ready for the holidays and family time, I also take time to think of all those who are alone, homeless or unemployed and suffering at this time of year.

“I am always mindful of those many people from charities and churches who offer comfort to those in need, as well as those special people such as medical staff and police and emergency services staff, who often go without thanks.

“As we spend time with our families and friends I hope that none of us are victims of reckless driving or senseless crime. Wishing you safe and happy holidays.”
