BOSKRUIN – The daughters of murdered William Conly Annandale, speak about their beloved father.

Emotions were running high when the daughters of the man who was shot and killed in Boskruin spoke very highly about their father, William Conly Annandale.

Annandale (65) was murdered during a robbery on the evening of 8 November in his home in Boskruin. In an exclusive interview with the deceased’s daughters, Candice and Lugene Annandale said their father was a loved, valued, well-known and prominent businessman in Randburg.

Annandale also had two stepsons who he treated as his own. “They admired him very much. He didn’t want us to be a step-family; we were a unit,” said Candice.

According to his beloved daughters, Annandale was a property developer of various retirement villages and the recent mall in Modimolle. He was a DA ward councillor in the 90s, worked at the Randburg Rates and Taxpayers Association and was also very involved with Boskop Primary School in Honeydew.

“He was the chairperson of the Parent-Teacher Association for many years and helped improved the school,” said a teary Lugene.

“He had a vast knowledge. When people asked what he does, they should’ve rather asked what he doesn’t do.”

According to them, he had a love for motorcycles, was an avid car collector and was an experienced pilot.

“Our father was incredibly generous and also helped anyone in need. He taught us to never talk about what you have done for others. He was a happy guy and found the positive in every situation,” said Candice.

Her sister added that he never bragged. “He said that the people he helped would know what he has done for them,” she said, pledging that they will continue their father’s legacy.
