SA’s wealthiest reside in Joburg

A world class city in it’s own right, Joburg is one of the most progressive cities in Africa. Our rich heritage and emancipation is an indication of the hope people associate with Joburg.

According to World Cities Review, Joburg has has the highest number of millionaires and billionaires in South Africa. A staggering 17 600 millions and two billionaires call the city of gold home. Collectively the total wealth amounts to a breath taking three trillion rand.

To add to our impressive numbers, Cape Town, Durban and Pretoria also made it on the wealthiest cities in the world. These figures are definitely not bad for a country that was once listed as a third world country.

Meanwhile around the world the fastest growing cities in the world are Beijing, Shanghai, Mumbai and Sydney. The worlds wealthiest cities are London, New York and Tokyo. According to New World Wealth, a wealth intelligence company said that the number of millionaires and billionaires in South Africa is decreasing.

In addition, a report showed that there were 40 400 dollar millionaires and seven dollar billionaires whose combined wealth is estimated at R8 trillion, which is seven times the national budget.
