JUST IN: Armed men rob a mother at school

FONTAINEBLEAU – The mother could have been followed by the suspects on her way to school.

A 43-year-old mother was robbed at gunpoint while picking up her child at Laerskool Fontainebleau in the afternoon of 20 October.

Linden police spokesperson, Captain Walter Spencer confirmed the incident and indicated that two men armed with revolvers approached the mother who was parking her vehicle outside the school. They allegedly ordered her to hand over all her belongings. “The suspects took her wedding ring, car keys and sunglasses. They threatened to shoot her if she did not cooperate,” he said.

According to Spencer, the suspects subsequently walked through Charlie Road and got into a white hatchback vehicle and drove away. Linden police are investigating an incident of armed robbery.

Another parent, Eddie (surname withheld to protect the identity of the child) alleged that a vehicle was stolen outside the same school last week.
