MUST READ: Wits students confirm meeting with management
Braamfontein - Wits management has yet to confirm if a meeting between management and students will take place.
Wits University management has yet to confirm a meeting that students say will be held with 30 student representatives.
Students met from 5pm until 9pm on 12 October, and debated issues to be tabled at the meeting.
Former Wits SRC president Mcebo Dlamini announced that the university reached out to them with request to meet.
The university, according to Dlamini, has requested to meet the 30 representatives in a separate place to the rest of the student body, but will televise the meeting live to other students.
The meeting comes after Wits cancelled its general assembly at the eleventh hour last week. Student representatives will include several academics, workers and members of the Student Representative Council.
Students will watch proceedings from Solomon Mahlangu House. Students were told that the meeting will begin at 9am.
