Hit-and-run victim thanks Good Samaritans

BROMHOF – The victim of a hit-and-run wants to thank those who helped him. Were you one of them?

A biker who was injured in an accident on Malibongwe Drive in Robindale is recovering at his residence.

Craig Nelson was involved in a hit-and-run accident where the driver of a white bakkie bumped into him on the morning of 16 September and drove off towards South Road.

Although his bike was not badly damaged, Nelson sustained injuries to his left leg and ribs. “I think about three people helped me and I don’t know who they are as I was in a lot of pain. I just want to thank them. I remember the lady who asked me if I was unconscious and if I could still breathe,” Nelson said.

He insisted that the Good Samaritans who helped him deserved to be known and thanked for their good deeds.

“We often complain about bad things going on, but we have to acknowledge people who are doing good things.”

Nelson said he would never forget the accident and how Good Samaritans helped him before the ambulance arrived on the scene. He further thanked the men who moved his bike out of the road and picked him up and moved him to the side of the road before the ambulance arrived.

“These people deserve to be known. It is not about my pain or injuries, it is all about them and their efforts to assist me.”
