UPDATE: Spider the stabbed dog thanks his saviours

WELTEVREDEN PARK – Spider is recovering well and the owners are happy that he is safe.

The dog named ‘Spider’ that was stabbed during a house break-in is safely recovering after his surgery.

Spider was stabbed in the chest yesterday (20 September) when intruders broke into his owner’s home on Madeliefie Street in Weltevreden Park.

Honeydew Police opened a case of house break-in and theft.

Due to a massive joint effort by the community and reaction companies, he was transported to a nearby vet and stabilised.

Spider’s human mommy, Nomandla Joko, said she had just left Spider where he recovering after his surgery at Johannesburg Specialist Veterinary Centre in Randpark Ridge.

The centre confirmed that the surgery went well and he is walking and getting up on his own. They said the prognosis is good.

“I am very happy that he safe and sound. We would like to thank all who helped during yesterday’s incident, it really warmed our hearts,” added Joko.
