In this time, Tshabalala received an anonymous tip that the car might be in a scrapyard in Chaiwelo, Soweto. Tshabalala informed Dowry of the tip-off, and Dowry Security went with Tshabalala to verify the information with the Orlando Police Station, but the vehicle was not found.

Tshabalala had a meeting with Dowry Security on 25 August to discuss the way forward and insurance claims. Dowry’s insurance has advised that Tshabalala take a polygraph test to rule out any doubt or possibilities of involvement on his side. He is set to take the test on 13 September.

The guard on duty the morning Tshabalala ‘s car was stolen, has also taken a polygraph test, which came out negative and dissolved any suspicion.

“I hope that after I test negative that the insurance company will pay out for the car and it does not have to get to the point where the matter is escalated by lawyers,” Tshabalala added.
