As police separate the #OccupyLuthuliHouse and #DefendLuthuliHouse groups, uMkhonto we Sizwe Military Veteran’s Association (MKMVA) tried to prevent the African National Congress’ (ANC’s) Secretary General Gwede Mantashe from receiving the memorandum the movement wanted to hand over this morning.
But Mantashe has reportedly received the memorandum despite MKMVA’s attempts to prevent it.

Mantashe was on his way to Beyers Naudé Square to address the disgruntled ANC members who initiated the #OccupyLuthuliHouse movement at the weekend, asking its supporters to join them in a march to the ANC’s headquarters on Monday (today). A small group has however turned up, saying it requested other supporters to stay at home for fears of violence, referring to the strong police presence outside Luthuli House.
