5 injured as two taxis collide

RANDBURG – Accident on the R114 leaves five injured.

Five people sustained injuries ranging from minor to critical, after two taxis collided on the R114 at about 7.47pm on 3 September.

“Reports from the scene indicate that two taxis collided semi head-on, exact detail to the cause of the crash and preceding events will form part of the South African police investigation,” said Netcare 911 media liaison officer, Chris Botha.

“Paramedics arrived at the scene and found a female to have sustained critical injuries while four others sustained injuries ranging from serious to minor. Medics placed the female on a ventilator and then transported her to a nearby hospital for the care that she required.”

The other four were also transported to hospital for medical care.
