Over R1 million raised by Rand Park debs

RANDPARK RIDGE – Rand Park High debutante ball was the most successful.

Rand Park High School hosted its Debs Ball on 20 August at a glittering event held at Mount Usambara. In total 105 debutants were involved in fundraising for the school this year. The 2016 year was an extraordinary year because the Debs set themselves the ambitious target of raising R1 million for the school.

This is the largest target set by a group of Rand Park Debs or Squires and they worked hard to achieve it by raising money in their individual capacity as well as in their Debs Groups. Fundraising took place through various events such as golf days and Barnyard fundraisers. They sold food items at the school’s food fiestas, and set up stalls at derby days and the Debs Fête, among others.

Hard work and a genuine commitment to the school was rewarded when their target was exceeded and the incredible amount was announced at the Debs’ Ball on 20 August. It was a night of celebrating the young women and their parents who have devoted much time and effort to this year’s Debs’ projects and to Rand Park High School.

The top three Debs were:

Adolphe succeeded in raising more than R284 000 for the school.
