Randburg Police Station welcomes back their old spokesperson

KENSINGTON B – Captain Makgowanyana Maja is the new spokesperson for the Randburg Police Station.

The Randburg Police Station has welcomed back their old colleague Captain Makgowanyana Maja who has returned to take over the communications office. He will now take over as spokesperson from Constable Lekgora Bopape who will now be inducted into the detective team at the Kensington B Police Station.

Maja returns after spending 18 months at the Douglasdale Police Station where he worked as a client service commander and said that he enjoyed his time at Douglasdale.

“I am a people’s person and I am always ready to face all challenges thrown my way. I am happy to be back in Randburg even though I will miss my colleagues at Douglasdale,” Maja added.

With 18 years of being a policeman under his belt, Maja said that he became an officer of the law because it was his calling and nothing makes him as happy as serving his community.

Maja noted that the job he was in now was nothing new as he was the spokesperson of the Randburg Police Station before heading to Douglasdale.

“When I go home I am happy that I have made a difference in someone’s life and made them happy,” he explained.

Born and bred in Polokwane, Maja joined the police force in 1998 and has never looked back despite the dangerous aspects that come with the job.

“I started my career in the charge office and moved my way up the ranks until I was promoted to captain,” the father of two said.

He described himself as a humble person whose mantra is to serve his community.
