Reaction officer prevents rape

NORTH RIDING – Londoloza Protection Group reaction officer prevents rape on morning patrol.

Londoloza Protection Group reaction officer, Robert Moalose, has received an in-house award for going above and beyond his duty in the field.

Moalose was on patrol in the early hours of the morning in North Riding when he noticed a suspicious vehicle on the side of a main road. Moalose made a U-turn to further investigate but the vehicle sped off when the Londoloza vehicle approached.

Moalose found a woman on the gravel near where the suspicious vehicle had been. The woman told Moalose that he had just saved her from becoming a rape victim as she was in the midst of a struggle with the suspect in the vehicle.

The suspicious vehicle was then intercepted by a Londoloza reaction vehicle. The woman was attended to by medics and taken to hospital.

Moalose was rewarded by Londoloza with a certificate, a trophy and a R500 Pick n Pay voucher.

“We are extremely proud of Moalose for his exceptional work in identifying and preventing a possible life threatening incident. Robert is a true asset to my unit,” said Shane Theunissen, head of department of Reaction and Control.
