UPDATE: Unions, Metrobus in discussion amidst strike

JOBURG - The transport service has been halted until further notice.

Metrobus is since Friday facing protest action by its bus drivers due to “a number of issues”.

This according to Metrobus spokesperson Esther Dreyer who also said the company is currently in negotiation with workers’ union representatives.

Entrances at Metrobus’ offices in Braamfontein have been blocked off by protesters with rock on Friday and again this morning. The bus service, that transport passengers on 229 scheduled routes, has since been halted.
