Clean water gushes to the street for more than five months

BOSKRUIN – Water gushes along CR Swart Road since the beginning of February.

A resident from Boskruin could only watch helplessly as clean water continues to gush down the road.

Robert Martin had been trying to get Johannesburg Water (JW) Randburg Depot to fix the leaking pipe for the past five months.

He has been given more than five reference numbers and now he has lost hope and can only wonder if the problem will ever be fixed.

“They said it is fixed but it isn’t. Every time I call them, they just give me a new reference number,” he said.

He further explained that it was unacceptable that JW has failed to repair the leak from February. “It seems like JW doesn’t care anymore. Someone should do something about this,” he said.

According to him, the pipe was hit by the contractors who were installing cables at the corner of CR Swart Drive and Kowie Street.

JW external spokesperson, Eleanor Mavimbela said they were on site investigating. “As soon as we find out what the problem is, we will attend to it,” she said.
