MMA denies pit bull advert

RANDBURG –Pit bull fighting website has been taken down.

A pit-bull fighting trailer advert has the community in a stir.

A photo of the floating trailer advertisement went viral this morning with hundreds of concerned residents and dog lovers condemning the incident.

The advertisement was last seen on Cherry Drive and Republic Road in Randburg.

A few concerns were raised on whether the advert was a ‘sick joke’, ‘a MMA advert’ or mixed Martial Arts fighters against pit bull fighting.

Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) South Africa has categorically denied any participation with regards to the advert. President of MMA SA, Bertus Coetzee, said, “We know for a fact that we are not involved in anything of the sort.”

Coetzee added, “Even if it is a MMA event, it was not sanctioned by us and nor would it be as we do not condone such behavior.”

The website for the advertisement is cajunrules.co.za which has now been taken down. It is not known who has taken it down yet.

Information was found regarding the website creators, see as follows:

The details of the website username.

The username is Jacun Suler – the anagram for ‘Cajun Rules’. Cajun rules are rules used in dog fighting. These rules have been historically used in pit bull fights to describe the critieria needed, such as ‘Rule 3: Referee to see the dogs weighed at time agreed on and if either dog is over top weight agreed on he loses the forfeit money.’

Randburg Sun has called the number provided in the advert but with no answer to numerous attempts.
