Investigation ongoing for Sonneglans murder

SONNEGLANS – Police say that the case for murdered Louisa Lubbe is still an ongoing investigation. Forensic and autopsy reports are awaited.

A community was left in shock and extremely saddened by the murder of young mother, Louisa Lubbe in her Sonneglans home in Witdoring Road on the afternoon of 26 May.

Spokesperson for Honeydew Police Station, Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs confirmed that police are still busy with the investigation and are currently waiting for the autopsy and forensic reports.

Community Support Services were alerted to the scene on 26 May at around 3pm when a neighbour heard gunshots fired. Randburg Sun reported that it is believed that Lubbe and her husband picked up a casual worker to help out in the garden. Lubbe’s husband was shot in his shoulder. The suspect was also shot in the incident, but succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.

ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said that they were on scene and found the body of a motionless woman on the scene. Unfortunately, she was declared dead on the scene. Lubbe was the chairperson at the Olivedale Tennis Club.
