Biker seriously injured in collision

A man, believed to be in his 20s, was seriously injured this morning after his motorcycle collided with a taxi on Beyers Naudé Drive.

ER24 paramedics, along with other services, arrived on the scene and found the patient lying in the island between the two roads.

On assessment, paramedics found that the man had sustained a serious injury to his right leg.

Paramedics stabilised the patient and provided him with advanced life support interventions.

He was thereafter transported to a private hospital for urgent treatment.

The driver of the taxi, fortunately, escaped without injury.

Local authorities were on scene for further investigations.
