UPDATE Homeless man beaten for ‘calling guard a monkey’

BOSKRUIN - A homeless man was severely beaten outside a local shopping complex this afternoon.

A homeless man, begging at a traffic light in Boskruin was allegedly beaten after saying something to a security guard, through the window of his vehicle.

According to Jean-Pierre Le Roux, who witnessed the incident, a man driving a security company vehicle, marked as a supervisor, got out of his vehicle after the homeless man said something to him through the window.

“The man then beat the homeless man, leaving him in a pool of blood,” said Le Roux.

Le Roux chased the security vehicle to get the registration number.

The security guard in question has spoken out saying that when he refused to give the man money, he called him a monkey.

“I got out of my car and hit him twice,” said the security guard, who did not want to be named.

* The security company has not been named as they have not yet been given the opportunity to comment.
