According to him, these could also change and increase the value of properties in the suburb if all residents and business people get involved.

The councillor’s plans include beautifying the entrance roads to the suburb, especially Riverbend Road and Agnes Avenue.

He called residents to submit their suggestions as he plans to develop the area. He is adamant that if they built the pavements on those roads, it will completely change the main entrance to the suburbs.

He said that he has already submitted and proposed his ideas to Joburg Roads Agency (JRA). “If we can plant flowers, grass and build pavements, this place will change for the better,” he said.

He appealed to residents to refrain from bylaws transgressions. He explained that residents should stop putting up illegal advertisements on stop signs, traffic lights and electricity poles. “This is a City’s bylaw transgression,” he explained.

He concluded that they are starting a public, private partnership with the City and welcome the residents’ opinion on the transformation of the suburb. “We will call a public meeting soon,” he concluded.
