Police inspire future minds

HONEYDEW – Bring your Child to Work Day saw some pupils experiencing life at a police station.

Pupils from the Royal Mount College in Cosmo City and Rand Park High School in Randpark Ridge, spent the day with the Honeydew SAPS as part of the Bring a Child to Work Day on 26 May.

Honeydew Police spokesperson, Warrant Officer Karen Jacobs added, “The pupils were educated on the daily duties of the police and about choosing to join the police force as a career.”

Rand Park principal, Alan Wilke, said, “This work experience is considered invaluable because it helps pupils to make informed decisions about their tertiary studies and future career choices, and to gain exposure to an industry or business sector which may be of interest to them.”

WO Jacobs added that the pupils received certificates for their participation in this project.
