Two men aged 18, were arrested on 28 April following an alleged rape of a -six-year-old girl in Cosmo City.

According to SAPS Joburg West Cluster spokesperson Warrant Officer Daniel Mavimbela, the caregiver inquired from the girl after she noticed a foreign substance on the victim’s underwear. The girl identified the alleged rapists to her caregiver. The two suspects will face charges of rape.

The arrest was one of 350 during recent sting operations over the Joburg West Cluster, the offences ranged from drinking in public, shoplifting, possession of stolen property, assault, robbery as well as rape.

“It is expected that all the suspects shall have appeared in the Randburg and Roodepoort Magistrates’ Courts by tomorrow, ” WO Mavimbela.
