Simba Mhere trial postponed until 1 April

KENSINGTON B – Simba Mhere case postponed at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court.

The trial revolving around the death of the late Top Billing presenter Simba Mhere and his friend Kady-Shay O’Bryan was postponed until 1 April at the Randburg Magistrates’ Court.

The driver, Preshalin Naidoo (24),  is accused of causing the collision which resulted in the death of Mhere and O’Bryan and was charged with two counts of culpable homicide. He pleaded not guilty on both counts.

In a previous court appearance Naidoo claimed that the accident was caused “as a result of an unexpected and unforeseeable mechanical defect in the right suspension of the vehicle (white Polo GTI)” that he was driving. He testified, “I lost control of the vehicle, which caused the collision between my vehicle and other vehicles.”

Mhere’s father Joseph  as well as the second vehicle driver, Velry Laka, also testified previously.
