Northriding College pupils have the gift of the gab

NORTH RIDING – Pupils compete in the Inter-School Public Speaking Competition for the first time.

Pupils from Northriding College participated and did well in the recent Inter-School Public Speaking Competition. The competition took place at Welridge Academy in Weltevreden Park.

Owner of Orion college, Daleen Tapinos said that she is very proud of how the pupils did. The competition took place over two days on 14 and 15 March.

“The Grade 4 to 5 pupils prepared Afrikaans and English speeches. Northriding College teacher Jo-lize Wassermann and Northriding College principal Karin Buys helped the pupils prepare for the competition,” said Tapinos.

Northriding College competed with Welridge Academy and Grace View Christian School. Grade 5 pupil Bonisiwe Nomoyi was the overall winner and Grade 4 pupil Dannika Henry won third place.

“I am extremely proud of how the pupils and teachers did, for the first time they competed in a public speaking competition. It is an outstanding achievement for us as a new school,” expressed Tapinos.
