Planned water interruption due to maintenance

BRYANSTON – Residents are warned of a planned water interruption that will last a day.

Water supplies across the City of Johannesburg is normal, with reservoirs at a satisfactory level. Joburg Water did, however, want to warn Bryanston residents about a planned water interruption for maintenance in designated areas.

The streets affected will be River Road from Grosvenor Road to Belgrave Street.

Maintenance will start on 15 March from 8am to 3pm. Water restoration time will be between 3pm and 5pm.

Joburg Water reminded residents that level 2 water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to.

According to the Water Services Bylaw consumers are not allowed to:

  • Water and irrigate their gardens from 6am to 6pm every day;
  • Fill their swimming pools with municipal water; and
  • Use hosepipes to wash their cars and paved areas.

Joburg Water urged residents to remain active partners in reducing the quantity of water used in the City of Joburg, and to report any form of vandalism and theft of water infrastructure to 080 000 2587.

Water saving tips:

  • Don’t leave taps dripping
  • Take shallow baths
  • Use bathwater or greywater to water the garden
