Johannesburg Water warned residents of a planned water interruption for maintenance in Rand Park Extension 4 on Tuesday 8 March.
The streets that will be affected will include corner Arend Avenue and Republic Road, corner Cherry Drive and Republic Road and corner Cooper Avenue and Republic Road. These streets will be affected from 7am to 7pm. With restoration time set to be between 7pm to 9pm.
Residents are reminded that level-2 water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to.
According to section 44 (3) of the Water Services Bylaw level-2 water restrictions states that all consumers are forthwith compelled:
- Not to water and irrigate their gardens from 6am to 6pm every day;
- Not to fill their swimming pools with municipal water; and
- Not to use hosepipes to wash their cars and paved areas.
Water saving tips
- Don’t leave taps dripping;
- Take shallow baths; and
- Use bathwater or greywater to water the garden
Joburg Water urged residents to remain active partners in reducing the quantity of water used in the City of Joburg, and to report any form of vandalism and theft of water infrastructure to 080 000 2587.
