Little Tuscany Boutique Hotel heeds the call to support Randburg CPF

KENSINGTON B – Little Tuscany Hotel heeds the call and supports the Randburg CPF and its Trauma Centre.

Brandon Weir-Smith, owner of Little Tuscany Boutique Hotel, heeded the call to support Randburg Community Policing Forum (CPF) and the Trauma Centre.

During the recently held CPF executive meeting, Weir-Smith, donated an amount of R30 000 to the organisation. He also undertook to host and sponsor all future CPF meetings, as well as related ceremonies at Little Tuscany.

He challenged other companies and organisations to match or better their support. He explained that it is crucial for businesses to support the CPF and strengthen the police force to deliver better services to the residents and businesses in Randburg.

The donation will greatly assist the CPF as it relies on community funding to execute its mandate and successfully run the Trauma Centre, also known as the Victim Empowerment Centre.

Randburg CPF is a non-profit company registered in terms of section 14 of the companies’ act. As the civilian oversight body of the Randburg police, part of the responsibility of the CPF is to support and develop projects which will improve the rendering of policing services to the community at station level.

The Trauma Centre is a non-profit, volunteer-driven centre with its focus on supporting the victims of crime. When a crime occurs police firstly arrive at the scene followed closely by volunteers from the centre, which is managed and governed by the CPF.

Lance Porter, CPF acting chairperson, thanked Little Tuscany for their support. He also appealed to organisations in the Randburg area and beyond to heed the call for financial support, donations or services to the CPF.

Randburg Police Station Commander, Brigadier Michelle Jones, emphasised the importance of public and community participation in the service delivery of SAPS Randburg.

She explained that combating crime could only be successful with the assistance of the community, and appealed to residents to become more involved at the police station through the CPF.

CPF Business Forum chairperson, Hennie Oosthuizen, thanked the community members and companies for their support and appealed to companies, residents and organisations to continuously support the CPF by pledging donations or their time.

Companies that would like to support the CPF and Trauma Centre can contact Hennie Oosthuizen.
