Head prefects of 2016 were announced at Trinityhouse Preparatory School ]on 12 February. Pupils, staff and family members attended the prestigious event to celebrate the pupils’ achievements.

Head girl was awarded to Jamie Coles and head boy went to Michael le Roux. Deputy head girl was awarded to Sarah Vos and deputy head boy to Donovan Whitely.

Coles said she was very surprised when she was announced as head girl. “It is such an honour that I was elected head girl of Trinityhouse Preparatory School. Being head girl to me means that I have to keep an open mind and encourage my peers,” said Le Roux.

She believes that anyone can be a leader even if you are not the best academically or a top performer in sports and arts. As long as you are doing your best, you are a winner.

Le Roux described how he felt when he was elected head boy because he was unbelievably surprised. “My body went into shock when I heard my name being mentioned. I’m very happy,” explained Le Loux.

He believes that being elected means he should lead by example and aim to do his best in all that he sets out to achieve. The recently elected head boy would like to encourage his peers to do their best in all they do and aspire to be leaders in their own way. He plans to make a difference in the school, make principal Hilton Scott, teachers and his peers proud.
