MTN resolves glitches

FAIRLAND – A minor glitch in the nodes carrying traffic related to the affected customers caused network connection issues.

Mobile network operator, MTN, apologised to its customers who experienced network connection glitches since the evening of 14 February.

The company’s PR and Communication senior manager Bridget Bhengu confirmed on 16 February that the network issues were resolved on the night of 15 February.

About 1 million customers experienced irregular connection issues associated with sending SMSs, making phone calls, and data connections throughout the country.

The plight was due to a minor glitch in the nodes carrying traffic related to the affected customers.

According to MTN, the engineers worked around the clock to resolve the issue and everything is back to normal.

The operator is closely monitoring the situation and promised that it would investigate complaints that are still being received from the customers.
