Entrepreneurs are the future

BRYANSTON – Entrepreneurs can help with job creation in the country.

Thebe Reed Exhibitions Managing Director Carol Weaving believes that entrepreneurs are the future of South Africa and could help with job creation.

“Some of the biggest businesses in the world were developed in the worst economies,” she explained with reference to the current state of the economy in the country.

She was adamant that most entrepreneurs have brilliant ideas but the challenge was implementation. “They have ideas but do not know how to put them together and start their own business,” she continued.

Thebe Reeds is more involved in exhibitions to help entrepreneurs connect with investors in the business fraternity.

After two decades of successful business development expos, the company has announced two new format business exhibition titles designed to nurture growth in business skills and relationship development.

The two new exhibitions are #BuyaBusiness Expo and Small Business Expo and would be staged at the TicketPro Dome in Northriding from 8 to 10 September.

#BuyaBusiness Expo focuses on connecting entrepreneurs, operators and investors who are looking to grow, diversify or enter into business ownership with many businesses and franchise opportunities available at the show.

The Small Business Expo (SBE) is focused on marketing strategy and is expected to attract industry-specific procurement buyers, business investors, and buyers seeking products and services in the manufacturing, agriculture, trade and services sectors.

Weaving further explained that they had to reinvent the exhibition as it was gradually becoming stale. “Exhibitors expect more value when coming to the show and so are the visitors,” she continued.

She further indicated that they have changed the look and feel of the show as the needs of entrepreneurs and small businesses had changed over the years.

“As industry trends and economic times change, we need to keep reinventing and staying ahead of the game. Gone are the days of static exhibitions – it is now all about relationship brokering,” she explained.

Given the changes that have been reinvented this year, participants would need to pre-register before the actual show and it is advisable to register as early as possible.

“Our exhibition is more focused and we need to ensure that people come for the right reasons and that’s why they need to register first,” she explained.

Registration can be done on the website.
