Linden Police advise community where to report crimes

LINDEN – Report your crimes at your nearest police station.

Linden Police urge the community to report their crimes to the correct police station and to be to aware of the street boundaries. Linden, Sophiatown, Fairland, Randburg, and Parkview have different police stations.

“This becomes a problem when we get a high volume of crimes or incidents reported at the Linden Police Station by members from other areas, we have to attend to them instead of serving our community,” said Linden Police corporate communications officer, Constable Carol Mulamu.

SAPS encourages the community to report crime or incidents anywhere in the country, but for service delivery to be quick, it is advisable that you report a crime to a police station close to where the incident or crime happened. Crimes should be reported immediately, if one takes time to report the matter at their nearest police or within a 48-hour period, it could delay the investigation process as well as contaminate the crime scene.

Community members can report their crimes anywhere in the country, if it is reported at the incorrect police station, the docket will be transferred to the relevant police station, however, this could hinder service delivery.

It is important for the community to know their Sector Police. There are allocated patrol vehicles per sector and there is speedy service delivery if one contacts them to report a matter.
