Cul-de-sac sign on Maria Street

ROBINDALE – Security will now be able to monitor the motorists driving on Maria Street.

Residents from Robin Village Complex in Robindale are grateful that a cul-de-sac sign has finally been erected close to their complex on Maria Street.

This after they signed a petition to Ward 102 Councillor David Potter, requesting the road sign be erected.

The street was apparently closed a few years ago, however, the cul-de-sac sign was never put up.

Since then it was very difficult for the security in the complex to monitor suspicious activities and if motorists driving on the street were lost or not.

Councillor Potter escalated the problem to Joburg Road Agency and within two weeks the sign was erected.

A member of the Board of Trustees in the complex, Burgert Muller, explained that last year December, two crime incidents occurred and a motor vehicle was stolen in the complex.

Muller concluded that security would be alerted easily if criminals were driving there.“We thank the Councillor for escalating our problem,” he concluded.

Details: Burgert Muller, 011 285 6009.
