Movie with local star makes R1.1 million in the first week

RANDPARK RIDGE – Zeus the dog enjoys the limelight.

Movie Paw Paw vir my Darling skyrockets in the first week of the launch and rakes in R1.1 million.

Local star, Zeus the dog from Randpark Ridge, reaps the benefits of his hard work as a movie star as the movie climbs the charts. In the film, based on Jeanne Goosen’s novel that tells the story of the Beeslaer family of 24 Frik du Preez Street in Damnville, Zeus plays Tsjaka and steals the show with a wonderful performance.

“We have been getting so many compliments since the movie has been out, it feels amazing and overwhelming,” said Zeus’s mom Sandy Cammell. She said that their family is very proud of Zeus and excited for this accomplishment.

Cammell said Zeus loves the attention and they are hoping to get more exposure for him and more roles to cast him in.

Zeus became a star after he was rescued in a frail condition by the SPCA Randburg and adopted by Cammell and her family. He was then professionally trained by Cammell and joined a casting agency where he landed his first big role in Paw Paw vir my Darling.
