Two baby boys born on New Year’s day

OLIVEDALE – For two couple’s from Ferndale and North Riding it was an exciting start to 2016.

Two bouncing baby boys were born at Netcare Olivedale Hospital on 1 January 2016.

The first to arrive at 10.47pm was Adel and CJ van Tonder’s little boy, Caleb weighing 4.59kgs.
This is the Ferndale couple’s first child and both parents were beaming with joy. “I can’t describe how it feels, I am bursting with pride,” said new daddy CJ.

Rochelle Meier and Jonathan Tasker also had an exciting start to 2016 with the arrival of their first child, a beautiful baby boy. Ethan Ross Tasker was born 15 minutes before the clock struck midnight on 1 January weighing only 3.35kgs.

The couple from North Riding said the pregnancy and birth went well and Jonathan was right by Rochelle’s side in the delivery room to cut the umbilical cord.

“He is such an awesome little boy, he doesn’t even cry. It’s just amazing, what a way to start the New Year,” said the proud dad.
