Major water pipe burst in Kya Sand

RANDBURG – Kya Sand and North Riding water supply affected because of a major burst pipe.

A major water pipe burst on the morning of 15 December, causing an emergency water shutdown in Kya Sand and surrounding suburbs.

A statement from Joburg Water said that North Riding and Bloubosrand are also affected.

This will go on until workers are done fixing the pipe.

Joburg Water said other than the burst pipe crisis, the water supply across Joburg is normal, with reservoir levels across the city in a satisfactory position.

It said there are no planned service interruptions for maintenance on 15 December.

It further said with the return of the high temperatures, residents are reminded that level two water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to.

Residents were urged to remain active partners in reducing the amount of water used in the City of Joburg and are strongly urged to use water sparingly.
