Planned water interruption in Strijdom Park

STRIJDOM PARK – Hammer Avenue, Langa Street and Malibongwe Drive are affected by planned water interruption on 14 December.

Joburg Water is carrying out planned service interruptions for maintenance in Strijdom Park on 14 December.

The interruption started at 7am and will go on until 4pm.

The affected areas are Hammer Avenue, Langwa Street and Malibongwe Drive.

This is because they are working on the existing water main for new pipes.

Jobug Water said the water supply across the city is normal, with reservoir levels in a satisfactory position.

It warned that with the return of the high temperatures, residents are reminded that level two water restrictions are still in place and must be adhered to.

Level two water restrictions according to Section 44 (3) of the Water Services Bylaw states that all consumers are forthwith compelled:

  • Not to water and irrigate their gardens from 6am and 6pm every day
  • Not to fill their swimming pools with municipal water
  • Not to use hosepipes to wash their cars, paved areas, etc.

Water saving tips:

  • Don’t leave taps dripping
  • Take shallow baths
  • Use bathwater or grey-water to water the garden.

Residents are urged to remain active partners in reducing the amount of water used in the City of Johannesburg and are strongly urged to use water sparingly.
