Kera Healey – rising female golf star

RANDPARK RIDGE – Kera Healey won at the Inter-Provincial Primary Schools Golf Tournament.

Kera Healey (12), a resident at Randpark Ridge, is one of the few girl golf players in the province.

In December, she was part of the Central Gauteng Girls team which won the  Inter-Provincial Primary Schools Golf Tournament.

When her father introduced her to golf a few months ago, the aim was just to keep her away from her studying sister.

But today, the Grade 6 pupil at Trinityhouse Primary School Randpark Ridge has became one of the best young golf players in the province.

“I remember my mom accusing me of distracting my sister when studying in our house, she then decided to get me out of the house by sending me to play golf,” said Healey.

She said, “At first I did not like the idea, but I grew to love golf because my dad played as well, even though it was part-time.”

Healey said after getting used to it, golf became her hobby and she also developed a passion for it.

She holds 10 trophies that she has won at golf competitions.

Trinityhouse Randpark Ridge wishes Healey all the best for the future and to make it all the way.

The school is very proud of her and what she has achieved.
