Randburg’s former acting Station Commander’s Christmas message

KENSINGTON B – Randburg Police will increase visibility and focus on areas that proved to be problematic in the past.

Colonel Andries Odendaal, former Randburg Police acting Station Commander sends his Christmas message:

It is such a special time of the year when Christians all over the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ and what his life, death and resurrection meant to them.

A time when we are reminded of God’s love of the human race, but also of the very important response needed to accept the offer and to restore a once-broken relationship with God.

The spirit of Christmas is love, and my wish is that every individual may experience that Godly love in their hearts.

The festive season is usually associated with parties, family gatherings, holiday, and relaxation. Residents are however, requested to retain common sense, remain vigilant and to continue to apply your normal security measures. It is only within the framework of personal safety that you will truly be able to enjoy the time with your loved ones.

Safety on our roads, means no drinking and driving – let’s not meet by accident. Take special care while shopping in our complexes, you can avoid being a victim of crime by just being observant.

From SAPS Randburg you can expect increased visibility. We will focus on areas that proved to be problematic in the past. Awareness campaigns will take place all over the Randburg precinct, with the purpose of educating our community on crime trends and safety tips.

You have to read it through for it to be of any use, and if you do, it will hopefully assist in taking you off the “soft target” list of criminals.

Please remember that everything the police do, is aimed at protecting you, the law-abiding citizen, to prevent crime taking place and deter would-be criminals, and to detect and arrest criminals, to ensure a safer Randburg for all. So please co-operate with our additional efforts this festive season, and may this Christmas be your best one ever.

Details: Randburg Police, 011 449 9000.
