Judgment has begun in Flabba case

RANDBURG – Judgment in the #Flabba trial started with witness accounts.

Judge Solly Sithole presiding over the murder case of Nkululeko ‘Flabba’ Habedi, reads through evidence in his judgment process at Randburg Magistrates’ Court on 9 December.

Habedi was killed at his home in Alexandra on 9 March, after he was stabbed by his girlfriend, Sindiswe Manqele.

Manqele, is accused of murdering him and she has pleaded not guilty and said she acted in self-defence.

Judge Sithole explained that this part of the judgement will take time as the judgment is over 50 A4 pages long.

He went through the list of the substantial facts of the incident such as the injury wound to the (heart) and the place in which it happened.

Judge Sithole recapped the exhibits that were brought before the court such as testimonies of both the state and the defence.

Testimonies from the state witnesses were explained before the court.

Judge Sithole further added with regard to the witnesses that none of them were inside of the room when the stabbing occurred.

The re-reading of the evidence took most of the day as Judge Sithole wanted to “spell out the witness testimonies for the court’’.

He recalled Manqele’s testimony such as the argument that ensued in the parking lot at the Sands Night Club.

Details of Manqele’s phone calls to her taxi driver were also recalled.

Their eventual arrival at the home in Alexandra in her testimony was read out.

Court adjourned until after lunch.
