Licensing department closed

BLAIRGOWRIE – City of Joburg says there is a possibility of a strike at all licensing centres.

The Randburg Licencing Department at the Randburg Walk-In Centre in Blairgowrie was closed this morning, 7 December.

Ward 102 Councillor David Potter confirmed this. “The closure of the Randburg Licencing Department and others was brought to my attention earlier today. I am in the process of finding out from the City of Joburg as to why,” said Potter.

Questions were sent to City of Joburg spokesperson Nthatise Modingoane, and comment is awaited. However, the entity responded to a tweet, saying that there may be a strike at all licensing centres.

The initial tweet from Nombulelo W. Fox asked, “@cityofjoburgza Abuti TK, will you let us know what’s happening with Licensing departments as soon as there’s sufficient info?” The City responded, “We are aware of a threat to strike at all licencing centres ^TK.”
