Armed men robbed customers at Appleton Shopping Centre

Four armed men stormed the Liquor Plus Bottle Store on the corner of  Malibongwe Drive and Hill street in Ferndale on 28 November at around 7:55 pm, and fled with customers belongings.

The armed men fired three shots outside the store at Appleton Village Shopping Centre and robbed customers of their wallets and jewellery.

The shop tellers were held at gunpoint.

Randburg police spokesperson Constable Stanley Bopape said police had launched a manhunt investigation and no one had been arrested at this stage.

He explained that the incident left many customers reeling with shock.

“No one had been injured and we are investigating an incident of armed robbery,” concluded Constable Bopape.
