Randburg SPCA says thank you

NORTHRIDING –SPCA Randburg thanks the community for their help during the devastating fire.

The Randburg SPCA suffered serious damage after its charity store donations storage container, caught fire on 11 November.

After calls were made to the community to donate and help the organisation, many people responded in leaps and bounds.

Within hours of the fire, SPCA’s neighbours, Hot 91.9FM started a ‘call-a-thon’ that saw the phone lines flooded with callers wishing to donate.

QuickIt also established an online system that totaled around R44 000 in monetary donations.

General manager Craig Rudman expressed his gratitude, “Thank you to everyone who donated and sponsored.”

Private individuals and companies, as well as locals schools, all came to help the animals and staff at the SPCA with any means possible.

Mark White Nissan donated a R15 000 cheque to Randburg SPCA on 27 November.

Numerous other companies came to the party with large donations as well and continue to donate generously.

“Whether it was through the call-a-thon, QuickIt or personal donations, we and the animals are so incredibly grateful for the time and effort given by the community,” said Rudman.

He added, “We are still reconciling our donors list and are overwhelmed by the amazing response from companies and private individuals.”
