RANDBURG - Scooter man knocked off his scooter by a passing truck

A man (30) has been airlifted to hospital after his was knocked off of his scooter by a passing truck on 13 November.

The ER24 spokesperson Russel Meiring said the man was critically injured after a collision at the Oxford and Vine Road intersection in Randburg.

Meiring said when the paramedics arrived along with other services, they found one patient lying on the side of the road while his scooter was in the middle of the road, a few metres away.

He said on their assessment, they found that the patient had sustained multiple injuries and was in a critical condition.

Meiring said the paramedics immediately began their treatment and provided him with advanced life support.

“Once treated, the patient was airlifted by a private medical helicopter to a nearby hospital for urgent medical treatment,” said Meiring.

He said it is understood that the patient was knocked off his scooter by a passing truck.

The driver of the truck fortunately did not sustain any injuries.
