Help Kids Clinics raise funds for Christmas

BORDEAUX – Help put a smile on a child’s face this Christmas, donate a gift.

The organisation Kidz Clinics is seeking public assistance to raise funds for its annual Christmas party to take place on 27 November.

Executive director Kevin Barbeau appealed to residents to assist in any way they could since their institution was a non-governmental organisation and relied mostly on the public to help them help abused children.

He indicated that residents could donate either cash or gifts to give to children during the annual celebration. “We call upon corporate sponsors and the general public to help us by donating presents, refreshments, and cash or volunteer their time for the day,” he said.

Volunteers can assist with decorations, preparing lunches and snacks, face painting, facilitating games or dress up like a Father Christmas.

The organisation was also looking for corporate organisations to help among others with gifts, lunch, decorations, sweets, sound system sponsorships for children between the ages of three to 18.

Donations can be sent to the organisation’s head office in Bordeaux at 6 June Avenue.

Barbeau explained that they have branches in Alexandra, Duduza, Pretoria and Boksburg. “We provide free medical assistance for abused children,” he said.

According to him, they dealt with almost 2 000 cases each year of children who are physically or sexually abused. “We work closely with the police and non-offending parents. We do examinations for children and ensure that the perpetrators are successfully prosecuted,” he concluded.
