City Parks assists Bloubosrand residents to upgrade Nautilus Park

BLOUBOSRAND – City Parks and residents work together to keep the park neat.

City Parks joined the Bloubosrand residents in cleaning and upgrading the community park.

Following the Bloubosrand initiative to clean and plant flowers in Nautilus Park, City Parks has now removed the two old bins, painted two remaining ones and also took out the broken concrete table and dangerous pole from an old see-saw.

According to the community leader for the park Carmen Haasbroek, this was the second clean-up and planting campaign they did on 24 October, following the first one on 10 October.

She said different groups from Bloubosrand participated this time.

Haasbroek said they are happy also that City Parks responded positively.

“They also removed some overgrown vegetation from the park,” said Haasbroek.

She said residents are just waiting for the other repairs to be done on the perimeter poles, repairing and painting of existing equipment.

“The park is looking great,” she said.

Haasbroek said that she is encouraging more residents to come out to the park, because it’s a great way of connecting with one another.

Ward 96 Councillor Matome Mafokwane gives his community thumbs up for the great job.

He said he is supporting their initiative.
