All the best to matriculants in their final exams – Cope

JOBURG – Lekota warns pupils not to succumb to the temptation of cheating.

Congress of the People wishes matriculants good luck in their final examinations.

Cope President Mosiuoa Lekota said, “We wish all who are writing Grade 12 examinations the greatest of success.”

He said they recognise this as a very important milestone in the life of a young person.

“Those who do very well in the exams will have interesting and fulfilling career paths to follow,” said Lekota.

Cope warns all those who are taking the exams to remain honest and not to succumb to the temptation of cheating under any circumstances.

Lekota said pupils must not destroy their future while they are on the very threshold of seizing that very future.

“To cheat is intrinsically wrong. Students should also resist any attempt by any corrupt teacher or invigilator to help them

answer questions,” said Lekota.

He said it is better to fail and try again than to cheat and get caught out.

“That is ignominious. The stain on one’s character stays forever,” said Lekota.

Lekota urges pupils to remain calm and composed while these exams mark the end of school life, they are not an end in themselves.

“Students must do their very best and if they do not succeed in the first instance, a second opportunity will be available to them,” he said.
